No Frills Tour: Helpsy

Tour Helpsy's facility in Trumbull, CT to learn about its programs for collecting, sorting and selling used shoes and clothing.  In 2024 Helpsy's team collected more than 32 million pounds. The results include large savings in terms of waste volume and waste costs reduced.  Counting only the clothes sold at retail, they saved over 4 billion gallons of water and over 600 million pounds of CO2 emissions in comparison to new clothing creation.  Helpsy also paid more than $500,000 to charities and municipalities for bin placements, clothing drives, purchased materials, and as donations.  Municipalities also benefited with more than $1.6 million in waste disposal tipping fees.  Following the 11 am tour all those interested will be treated to a light lunch courtesy of our hosts.
